Taylor Foster

Dr. Taylor Foster is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). But, even more so, he is an athlete and bodybuilder. Taylor grew up in the gym and started lifting weights when he was 12 years old under the guidance of a world record powerlifter. His fascination with weight training and the human body continued to evolve as he grew up and participated in multiple sports. Not knowing what else to do, Taylor continued to pursue what he loved by studying Kinesiology at The Pennsylvania State University. This then catapulted him into a Doctorate of Physical Therapy career path, where he continued his studies at Alvernia University. While at Alvernia, Taylor had the opportunity to work with the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas for a few months. He was able to work with and learn from their Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, Strength and Conditioning coaches, Dietitians, Sports Scientists, and Athletic Trainers. Taylor attributes a large part of his knowledge and expertise to this experience. While there, he learned the majority of his manual, hands-on, therapy skills. This is also where his performance, mobility, and recovery model of treatment was inspired. Upon graduating, Taylor continued to pursue his love for weightlifting in the form of helping others inside the gym as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. This has allowed him to develop significant experience working with weightlifters, bodybuilders, powerlifters, CrossFit athletes, and UFC, MMA, and other combat athletes. Taylor specializes in anything that relates to or involves performance, mobility, and recovery. He has an extensive history of gym and athletics experience and understand this population's needs very well. Taylor also has advanced training in High Velocity Low Amplitude mobilizations (commonly referred to as "manipulations" or “adjustments”), Dry Needling, and Neurodynamics. Services Taylor specializes in include: - Cupping - IASTM (instrument assisted soft tissue massage, more commonly known as “scraping” or “graston”) - Deep Tissue Massage - ART (Active Release Technique) - Trigger Point Release - Percussion Massage - High Velocity Low Amplitude Mobilizations - Joint Mobilization - Dry Needling - Banded Mobilizations - Exercise Prescription and Correction for pain and mobility impairments - Mobility Prescription for pain and mobility impairments - Nerve Mobilization - Biomechanic Movement Assessments - Injury Assessment and Diagnosis - Strength and Conditioning - Sports Specific Training Programs - Return to Sport Protocols - Sports Nutrition, Supplementation, and Meal Programming - Compression Therapy What makes Taylor different? “I am the healthcare provider that I, as an athlete, wish I could find and go to. I am not like most Physical Therapists in that I spend 75-100% of my time utilizing hands on treatment and 25% or less with corrective exercise mobility prescription with my patients. The gym and athletic population already perform enough exercise and that’s not typically what they’re looking for when they come to see me. Athletes and active individuals don’t need general strengthening and general corrective exercises. They need a few, specific, mobility and corrective exercises that are targeted towards their unique impairment that will directly improve their performance and/or mobility.”
